Jeremy trained at Otago Medical School. After spells in the NZ and UK hospital system he undertook GP training and then worked for 10 years as a rural GP in Otago. His interest in skin cancer developed during this period and he undertook advanced certificate training courses to advance his skills. In 2014 he moved to Melbourne with his family. One of the specific aims of this move was to allow him to work full time in primary care skin cancer and to attain the Fellowship of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. These goals were achieved and Jeremy has worked exclusively in skin cancer medicine since 2015 and was awarded the FSCCA in 2017. He has been an editor of the SCCA educational blog since 2016 and from 2019 was a lecturer for the SCCA Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine.

Outside of work he enjoys walking, live music and trying to grow tomatoes.
